We are delighted to announce that Eureka! Research have been appointed as the lead consultant on a major new study into the skills gap in the construction sector. Funded by TrustMark, the only Government-Endorsed Quality Scheme for work carried out in and around the home, we will be leading ambitious research across the RMI sector this winter (2024-25)
Culminating in a White Paper due to be launched at Westminster next February, our mission is to shed more light on the operational barriers that trade professionals are actually facing when training and recruiting staff into their businesses.
We’re calling our ambitious consultation with sole traders and SME businesses ‘The BIG Conversation’. This will be a large-scale survey, involving multiple partners across many trade types up and down the country, including the renewables and low carbon sector where skills shortages are expected to be particularly acute.
Davinder Jhamat, Head of Market Insight & Research at TrustMark comments “After a rigorous selection process, we have commissioned Eureka to support us with this vital thought leadership project.
Their knowledge of the sector, existing networks across the category, and ability to shape research that connects with tradespeople really resonates with how we support our Registered Businesses and ultimately provide quality and assurance for homeowners.”
Joining the research team will be Oxford Economics who will provide an economic and forecasting analysis of the research results and also support TrustMark making practical recommendations to policy makers across Government. We are hopeful that the team will be making some really hard-hitting and novel recommendations about bridging the construction skills gap.
